Q: IS MY TRUCK GOING TO BE TOP HEAVY?
A: The Mammoth is designed to disperse the weight of your cargo directly to your cargo box floor, and bed rails. Your vehicle handling will change, however, it is not unsafe. Some of our customers say it feels no different than hauling a full-size truck camper when the deck or rack system is completely loaded.
Q: HOW DOES THE MAMMOTH DECK OR RACK SYSTEM PERFORM IN HIGH-WIND AREAS?
A: With the Mammoth deck or rack system installed, with no cargo, you won't notice a thing.
With the rack system loaded with cargo, it will be no different from hauling a full-size truck camper or pulling an enclosed cargo trailer. In high-wind areas, you may notice wind resistance but it is nothing that will tip your vehicle.
Q: WHY NOT JUST USE A TRAILER?
A: Trailers and Mammoth Decks & Rack Systems are completely different methods of transportation for the same cargo. The Mammoth eliminates the need to haul a trailer, which can be a huge headache. Trailers take up lots of room, are hard to maneuver, contain lots of blind spots, hard to find parking for, require special licenses (in some countries), require additional insurance, and much more. Also, did we mention you can have a fully loaded Mammoth and still haul a trailer? Talk about versatility.
Q: WHAT IS THE MAX WEIGHT CAPACITY?
A: The Mammoth UTV Rack and Sled Deck weight capacities vary per product. View the product pages for more information regarding weight capacities.
Q: IS IT STREET LEGAL?
A: Absolutely. As long as you are within your vehicles GVWR while loaded, and equal to or less than your state/provinces maximum width and height restrictions, it is completely approved, legal, and certified by the ministry of transport.
Q: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO INSTALL?
A: Dependant on which unit you are installing, times may vary. The UTV rack system is typically about 45 minutes to assemble and install for the first time. The deck system will take around 25 minutes. Please contact your dealer for installation prices.
Q: CAN I STILL PULL A TRAILER?
A: Yes, which is one of the huge advantages of our brand of UTV Rack and Sled Decks. You must be cautious as some cargo and holiday trailers have a short tongue. When turning sharp corners on these short-tongue trailers, watch the ends of the UTV Rack system and the Sled Deck to ensure they won't collide. You must also make sure with your Mammoth Deck or Rack system loaded, you are still within legal towing weight and below your GVWR.
